Aboyne Lodge School
Primary school in the centre of St Albans, built 1948-50 and designed for Hertfordshire County Council by the County Architect, C H Aslin, and D Barron. It was one of the first schools designed and built under the revolutionary "Hertfordshire System", which was one of the earliest uses of a prefabricated unit construction system. This allowed schools to be erected quickly, without the need for bricklayers who were in short supply at the time. Grade II listed - see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1393724?section=official-list-entry.

Alley, St Albans
A currently unnamed alley leads from Drovers Way (and car parks) behind the camera to St Peter's Street ahead. On the right here is outdoor seating for the Albans Well pub and bedroom windows of a self-service Travelodge hotel above. After just a glimpse of the area to the rear and west of St Peter's Street, compared with old maps, it is easy to believe that the alley was recently created as part of the hotel development.

Shops on St Peter's Street, St Albans
BHS closed in August 2016 so I'm not sure what it's doing there now. The upper floor is probably used for other reasons as it's all dark downstairs as expected.
