The King Harry Pub St Albans
This is an awkward junction with a double mini roundabout. Best avoided if possible. {see note re St Stephens Church}

Holywell Hill looking towards Prospect Road
This was the A5 from central London but was then renumbered the A5183 from Edgware till Flamstead to deter drivers from using it. As they say, you couldn't make it up.

St Albans Abbey Station
This is the entrance at the foot of Holywell Hill to what is definitely St Albans' 'other' (albeit oldest) station - a stiffish uphill walk to the city centre. Trains run from here to Watford Junction - a list of the stations served directly is on the gatepost to the right of the entrance. Until 1951 there was also an infrequent service to Hatfield.

NEW St Albans Abbey station
A curious relic, best placed for the adjacent supermarket. The train discharging passengers was, in spring 2024, the only through working to or form London, leaving Euston at 15.18 and arriving at 16.01. It would return as a shuttle to Watford Junction at 16.07. Four coaches seems distinctly luxurious!
