Market Cross
There seems to be some doubt about this history of the cross. It stood originally at Old Cullen, but was removed in the 1820s to Castle Hill, where there are the remains of a base. There is apparently no documentary evidence to determine ehether the present cross incorporates parts of the original, or whether it is entirely of 19th century construction based.

Burgh Cross
By great good luck there wasn't a car parked in the space in front of the cross, or it would not have been possible to photograph it. It is a rebuilding in 1872 by John Miller of the old mercat cross, carved in 1675 by Daniel Ross, that stood outside the old kirk. Behind is the curved wall of William Robertson's Town Hall of 1822-1823, with distinctive triple doors. The Seafield Arms Hotel is to its right.
