Tannachy
The small hill is possibly a relic of the raised beach which can be traced round much of the coast of Scotland, marking an earlier and higher sea level. Image] shows the view from its summit.

Triangulation Pillar
This trig point is becoming overgrown by whins, to the extent that its number is hidden from view. I do not know what the white stick with the orange ball to the right is for. It stands on a square of galvanised steel which looks as if it may be covering something, but it surely cannot be a septic tank here on the highest point of land for several miles around.

Mains of Tannachy
Looking down on the farm in late evening sunshine from the top of the low hill. The Portgordon Maltings are in the middle distance. This is one of the tidiest farm yards I have ever come across. The large modern barn seems to have had cattle in it until quite recently, but these are now in a field out of view to the right. The grass is growing well in the other fields, so no doubt they too are destined to be grazed this year.
