Former Drill Hall
The Drill Hall was designed by local architect James Perry and opened in 1878. The building contractor was Messrs Alexander and the carpentry was by Messrs Hendry. It has a shop on either side of the door, and the hall behind seated 600. As well as being the base for the Territorial Army in Buckie, it was used as a gym by local schools. It was subsequently the Buckie Thistle social club, and is now an entertainment venue under the name of Grand Central. To the right of the hall are some of the shops on the south side of West Church Street.

West Church Court
The former West Church, having become redundant, has been converted into flats. It started out as Buckie United Presbyterian Church, and then became known as Buckie West United Free Church. In due course it reverted to the Church of Scotland, and in 1970 united with the South Church to become Buckie South and West Church. For a time the building served as a youth club, before being sold in 1993 for conversion. To its right is All Saints Episcopal Church. See also Image]

A Plethora of Churches
For a small town, Buckie possesses a remarkably large number of churches. There are three in this view alone, though the nearest one, the former West Kirk, has been converted into flats. See ImageThe next one is the Episcopal Church and the third one is the North Kirk.
