Little Balloch
Little Balloch, a low eminence south of Meikle Balloch, is not to be confused with the much more impressive Little Balloch Hill which is north-east of Meikle Balloch. When these broadleaved trees have grown up a little, this Little Balloch will become invisible.

A Ford on the Forest Footpath

Braehead
Braehead is just on the fringe of the forest plantations on The Balloch, which provides shelter to the north-west. The field in the foreground shows faint traces of ridge cultivation, highlighted by the last vestiges of snow.
