Gartly railway station (site), Aberdeenshire
Opened in 1854 on the Great North of Scotland Railway's line from Aberdeen to Keith, this station closed in 1968. The line was later singled.
View south towards Kennethmont and Aberdeen. The scene seems a little more overgrown than when Image was taken from the same position some 20 years earlier.

Gartly Level Crossing
A train heading to Aberdeen passes through the village, in times gone by the train would have stopped at the station here. Unfortunately the station was closed and has been converted into a house, how we suffer for the short sightedness of past generations.

Gartly station, remains 1997
View southward, towards Aberdeen: ex-GN-of-SR Aberdeen - Huntley - Keith - Elgin - (Inverness) main line. The station was closed 6/5/68, when also Keith - Elgin via Craigellachie was closed and all Aberdeen - Inverness have been run west of Keith by the ex-Highland line.
