Unidentified machine of yesteryear - a shredder perhaps?
The mystery object was by the northern wall of the Church at Millbrex. I suspect that something was fed downwards between the two vertical plates to the chain like teeth not visible from the outside. Not unlike the action of a shredder; for shredding draught copies of the good word perhaps?
