Turra Coo
The statue installed in 2000 recalls an event in 1913 on a farm near Turriff when a reactionary local landowner refused to pay national insurance contributions (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Insurance_Act_1911 ) for his tenants. The brutal social struggle of those days seems to be forgotten and the Coo is a tourist attraction.
