Castle Fraser: view from the south-west
The magnificent A-listed castle (http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB2924 ) largely built between around 1575 and 1636. The whole structure was harled (rendered) until the 1950s, when some of the plaster was removed to show the stone construction.
