Arms of Smith of Pittodrie
According to Fox-Davies' Armorial Families (vol. 2, p. 1793), the blazon, granted by Lord Lyon, is: "Or, on the waves of the sea, a three-masted ship in full sail proper, flagged gules, on a chief vert, a flame of fire between two horse-shoes of the first" and the motto is "Per undas" (for the sea?).
