Route of dismantled railway line, leading to Burnside of Pitcaple
The railway line was from the 19th century and formed part of the Inveramsay to Turriff Line - opened in 1857, closed to passengers in 1951 and finally closed to freight in 1966 and dismantled. The line passed through nearby Wartle and Rothienorman, as well as Fyvie and Auchterless, before arriving at Turriff - from there you could head to Macduff and Banff.
