Traditional Fishermen's Cottages
Most of the cottages have their gable-ends towards the sea, as this offers more shelter. These cottages were built for the seasonal herring fishery in the 19th century. Today, all but a few are second holiday homes.

No.9 Crovie
A B-listed building in the tiny village of Crovie, dating from the early-mid 19th century (possibly incorporating an earlier core). It has a fireplace lintel set in its gable wall inscribed 'Peter Johnston 1789'. The lintel was in No 8 Crovie, now demolished, which shares a common gable wall with No 9 Crovie.
