The Old Herring Riggers
The Ace Winches Scottish Traditional Boat Festival attracts these old style Riggers to the Town. These once were the type of boats that caught the herring. Once the haul was complete they would return to port to ensure the best prices for the earliest catches. Many of these boats are preserved for posterity and some are Museum pieces.

Finial at No 7
The finials on the gateposts at No 7 (the Georgian house) are carved with foliage. Sadly the soft stone is starting to weather on top, where it is more exposed.

Seafield Terrace, Portsoy, with parish church
"Until 1741 the inhabitants of Portsoy belonging to the established Church attended public worship at the Parish Church of Fordyce. This was felt to be a serious inconvenience especially in winter, the distance being two miles and the roads far from good. The first Presbyterian place of worship was opened in 1741... situated in the back street nearly opposite to the Burnside distillery. Then in 1746 a new church, which was abandoned in 1804. Funds were raised for the present church in 1815, which accommodates up to 700 souls.
