1 St Catherine's Street
This wouldn't be out of place in Aberdeen, though the grey granite is unusual in Banff. It dates from 1830 and is in the style of Archibald Simpson (1790-1847) of Aberdeen. There is an interesting contrast between the plain building and the Doric portico.

45 Castle Street and Castle Bar, 47 Castle Street
This is mid to late 19th century, possibly later than its neighbours to the south.

41 - 43 Castle Street
The double house dates from about 1850. No 41, on the left, has its original window, but the symmetry of the building has been destroyed by the later insertion of a shop front in No 43.

Banff Pillbox (2)

Pillbox: EDoB ID: S0013019
The view from the pillbox which has been built slightly inclined towards the south breakwater. There appears to have been a second entrance or emergency exit (now sealed) in the roof.
