Lying Close
A ball fairly close to the tee on Ellon Golf Course. The course meanders amongst the woodland in McDonald Park with golfers and walkers in close proximity.

McDonald Park Quarry
The remains of an old quarry in McDonald Park. The exposed rock is possibly greywacke, there apparently having been similar quarries in the vicinity.
Note also the largest building in the background, which is the clubhouse for the local golf course.

An old quarry, in Ellon's McDonald Park, would seem to pre-date the Park's formation stone from it probably contributing to the old farm dykes which can be seen around the Park.
