Bridge and Mast at Monduff
The bridge over the main railway line to Aberdeen allows the farmer at Mains of Monduff to reach his fields between the railway and the cliff. There is nothing at the mast to indicate what it is used for, though it looks like a mobile telephone transmitter. The photo was taken leaning precariously over the fence!

Cliffs Near Newtonhill
Apart from a couple of Razorbills which don't show up in this shot, the nesting birds are mostly Fulmars. The sea water is unusually clear.

Common Rock-rose (Helianthemum nummularium)
Not often seen, but when it is present it occurs in profusion. There is a large patch of it on the clifftop close to May Craig.
