Market Buildings, Stonehaven
This distinctive building was built in 1826 by Robert Barclay-Allardice, originally as county offices. The steeple was added later and completed in 1856.

Market square fountain, Stonehaven
Presented to the inhabitants of Stonehaven by George Barrie in 1887 and B-listed: http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB41641 . It is made of Aberdeen granite rather than the local sandstone. The fountain was to improve public health and encourage temperance. The horse trough was added later. The water dried up long ago and both are now used as flower planters.
