Rothes Castle
All that remains of the castle of Rothes. Pillaged for its stonework its remarkable that even this wall remains standing! A good vantage point however to view this distillery town.

Rothes Castle
This section of wall is all that remains of Rothes Castle, once the seat of the Leslie family, Earls of Rothes.

Rothes Castle
This solitary piece of masonry is all that is left of Rothes Castle, which was abandoned by its owners in 1622 and destroyed by local people about 1660 because it was being used as a refuge by bandits and outlaws. The daffodils cheer up the rather underwhelming view.
