Town and Gown
The Georgian Old Aberdeen former Town House is at the top of the High Street. it was designed by George Jaffray, dates from 1788, and is now a visitors' centre. The students' howff, "The Machar", has a new sign with a picture of St Machar Cathedral.

Called to the Bar
Many Aberdeen students have been called to the bar - St Machar's Bar. It has a colourful triptych of stained glass windows behind the bar, depicting Old Aberdeen Town House, King's College and St Machar's Cathedral. The friendly bar also serves fine stovies and good ale. Cheers!
