Old Aberdeen, dominated by the university, is an atmospheric district of the city with attractive old buildings and cobbled streets. This looking along College Bounds, from its junction with Spital Walk; this becomes High Street a little further north.

King's Pavilion, University of Aberdeen
The Pavilion was completed in 1939. It contains a variety of physical recreation facilities including a swimming pool and is situated beside the University's playing fields. Its modern architectural style forms an intentional contrast to its ancient surroundings.
