Belhelvie war memorial: WWI commemoration
The fallen from WWI on the west side of the memorial. As usual for Aberdeenshire, most were Gordon Highlanders. The first names on the memorial refer to three brothers: Major Harry Lumsden died in a flying accident at Brooklands: https://airwar19141918.wordpress.com/tag/major-harry-t-lumsden/ ; Charles and Bertie were killed in action in France: http://www.warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/warmemscot-post-55981.html .

Belhelvie Parish Kirk
View from the west: built 1878 with lancet windows. The church is very inconveniently located for the eponymous village, some 1.5 km to the south west.

Belhelvie Parish Kirk
The imposing south-east main façade with double entrance doors and lancet windows. The door in the annex to the left gives access to the staircase to the gallery (still in place). The orientation of the church on a SE-NW axis is a little unusual; for a view of the chancel end, see: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/151481 .
