Site of Culter station, 1988
View eastward, towards Aberdeen: ex-GNSR Aberdeen - Ballater Royal Deeside line. The station and line were closed from 28/2/66 to passengers, 2/1/67 for goods. However, by 1988 a tasteful restoration had been achieved.

An old 'wringer'
Outside the Heritage Trust hall in Peterculter. 'Made in Aberdeen'; but looking a bit too sturdy for domestic clothes washing duty. Were 'wringers' perhaps used in the Paper-milling business?

St Peter's Kirk, Peterculter. Stones to remember workmen killed by lightning.
The present St Peter's church at Peterculter dates from 1779. On July 10th, 1779 two workmen were killed by lightning on the nearby farm Alton (Oldtown) as they collected stone for the building. Two stones placed to mark the fatal spot were removed during the construction of the Peterculter Golf Course and are now placed against the wall of St Peter's Kirk (now St Peter's Heritage Centre).

Heritage Hall, Peterculter
Peterculter. Formerly an 'Iron Kirkie' in Ballater, it was moved here in 1907 to be used as the church hall. Together with the adjacent Heritage Centre (ex St Peter's Church) it has been in the care of St Peter's Heritage Trust since 1999.
