Passing beneath Union Street
The original granite bridge was completed in 1805, starting in 1801 as a three-arched design by David Hamilton (Glasgow) modified to a single-arch by John Rennie and then reduced in width by Thomas Telford. It bankrupted the Town Council!

Marshall Mackenzie and known locally as "The Monkey House". Recent occupants of it have been a bar and in 2024 a Thai restaurant. 2024 - plans are again afoot to turn the upper floors into flats. www.aberdeencity.gov.uk

Travelodge, Bridge Street, Aberdeen
This is said to be the very last large 'traditional' Aberdeen granite building constructed ca. 1956: it replaced another hotel on the site, which was destroyed by fire in 1941. One of the entrances to Trinity Shopping Centre can just be seen to the right.
