13-15 Golden Square, Aberdeen
The fine B-listed (see: http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/pls/htmldb/f?p=2200:15:0::::BUILDING:20326 ) terrace at the northwest corner of the square. No. 13 (nearest to the camera) is a bit later than that others, which are thought to have been designed by Archibald Simpson. The golden postbox celebrates the cycling gold medal won by local para-Olympian Neil Fachie (see: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3802265 for a close-up) in the 2012 Games.

Union Terrace Gardens in spring.
The gardens sit in a steep section of the Denburn Valley, beside the railway line to Inverness. The Denburn is now culverted and enters the Dee at Aberdeen harbour. In the distance is His Majesty's Theatre - more granite!
