A ghost sign for 'Hilton' from when the hotel was the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor. Having changed hands it was rebranded in 2022 and has reverted to its original name of Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel. The eastern half of the Category A listed https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/apex/f?p=1505:300:::::VIEWTYPE,VIEWREF:designation,LB32520 hotel, which was designed by J T Rochead, and dates from 1855, was gutted by fire in 1978, but rebuilt in 1980 in glass-reinforced concrete to the original facade design.
