Northfield Road appears on 1931 maps and was one of the first residential streets built on Northfield Farm. This unusual brick building could be a hint as to what exists under the usual pebbledash. Only one side of the road was built upon originally, the flats here would have overlooked Jock's Lodge playing fields.
