A view of the Stour Valley Way as it passes through the Stour Valley Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Bournemouth. A bench provides an opportunity for walkers to pause, take a seat and enjoy the view of the river. Here the river forms the boundary between the Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole unitary authority (in the foreground) and Dorset council (also a unitary authority) on the opposite bank. This image was taken on an October afternoon. At this time of year, the sun is lower in the sky than in the summer months, therefore the shadows are longer.
