The Worcestershire County Asylum opened here in 1852. Edward Elgar was appointed bandmaster in 1878. It was famous for using LSD on patients in the 1960s. I had Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) here for severe clinical depression in 1974. It closed in 1996.
