The Whitchurch Arm of the Llangollen Canal formerly reached into the town centre of Whitchurch but is now stopped at Chemistry Bridge leaving only 400 metres of waterway. There are plans afoot to reopen the canal beyond the bridge. The path is followed by the Sandstone Trail and other long distance paths.
