The church is listed grade II (list entry 1317021). It was built in 1869 by architect W H Crossland. Although in North Yorkshire it still falls within the Bradford episcopal area of Leeds Diocese (most of the former Craven Archdeaconry now comes under the Area Bishop of Ripon). The churchyard is still open for burials.
