Erected shortly after the 1st World War, probably in 1919, as a commemoration to 24 local men who didn't return. A second dedication was added after WW2 to include the names of 8 local people who fell in that conflict, and the whole structure was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101422639-shenstone-war-memorial-shenstone#.Y3pgeHbP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1422639 in late 2014.
