The origins of the Quorn Stafford Orchard can be traced back to the 14th Century. In 1893 William Farnham from the then land owning family went bankrupt. The Great War was to intervene but by 1920 village benefactors purchased the orchard in perpetuity to be used by the young inhabitants of the village as a playground.
