Walkley Police Station (former), Langsett Road, Sheffield

This old Police Station has been converted to flats ... note the water pipes coming through the front doors! Since submitting this picture I have found out that the old Police Station was used as a dental practice called Goodley & Ball ... perhaps it was them that installed the water pipes! Image ... Update in March 2012 ... Martin Speck has contacted me to say he once lived close to these premises and remembers one of the dentists being called Mr Wild, which he found a bit daunting ... and I fully understand that! ... Update in August 2012 ... I have now seen a picture of this Police Station in the second Images of Sheffield book. It shows the building as Walkley Police Station in 1923, with 62 Policemen and 3 Civilians posing outside the building for a picture. Of these 65 men 61 had a moustache of sorts ... goodness knows how the Sergeant knew their names. There are no women in the picture! … Update in December 2013 … I now have some pictures of the side door showing Mr Wild the Dentist's name!
