As a regular contributor to these squares, Anne Burgess, commented in one of her pictures, you are never far away from a power line in West Lothian. Nowhere is this truer than around Kirknewton where sometimes three separate high voltage lines cross one grid square. Gogar Burn is behind camera, and Milrig Farm and smallholdings are on the opposite of the burn. For some reason Milrig dropped an 'l' and a 'g' between the 1920s and 1960s.
