This unusual grave caught my eye in the churchyard of Image The head and foot are both marked by cast iron shields, and between them is a curved, coffin-shaped stone slab. The larger of the shields, at the head, bears a very worn inscription which will be completely indecipherable in a few years I would think, sic transit gloria mundi. Reading it as best as I can, I make it out to say: In Memory of William Ward who departed this life November ?? 1812 Aged 75 Years
