The building, dating from 1870 and by architect Edward Birchall who had designed the Woodhouse Lane meeting house two years earlier Image, is shown on the 1908 map as a mortuary chapel within a Quaker burial ground. But since 1928 it has been used as the place of worship of the congregation. There is a more modern extension to the rear, built in 2007. Information from the Statement of Significance published on the Quaker Heritage website.
