Seen from Station Road, the Dawlish name is picked out in flowers in such a position as to catch the eye of passing train travellers. The green is laid out with a pitch and putt course, although judging by the outfits of the players the weather was not too pleasant here in this summer scene from 1979. The red Devon General bus is advertising the top prize on Vernons Pools of £300,000 - quite a fortune in those days.
