The marker post shows where the easternmost section of the River Ayr Way branches off to its beginning/end at Glenbuck Loch. The route joins the line of the old Lanark to Muirkirk railway line here, and the old railway embankment can be seen continuing on the right. In the background is a snow-covered Hareshaw Hill and Shiel Hill, with some of the turbines of the Galawhistle Wind Farm.
