This unassuming public house on a street corner is one of the few listed buildings in the area (category C, ref. LB51119). It has been a pub since at least 1859 but is listed "for the survival of its relatively intact and rare 1930s Art Deco interior", which suggests a redevelopment in the boom years of the early 30s (no doubt the pub was busy with workers from the nearby ironworks).
