This Victorian public house, originally known as the Great Western Hotel, dated back to at least 1862. It seems to have closed shortly after this photograph was taken in July 2015. Planning permission was obtained for conversion to flats but before work commenced it was badly damaged in a fire, believed to be arson, in August 2017. Sadly the building was demolished in November 2019 and the site will be used for housing. Image Image
