Originally part of the estates of the Augustinian Canons of St Bartholomew in Smithfield, London. The park later became the site of a short lived mansion called Cannons, built and demolished during the middle years of the 18th century. Now a park, some remnants of the landscaped gardens are still there, including a building called The Temple, which once had a glass house or orangery on the front.
