This area of new, attractive, modern housing was named after Amy Johnson the Hull born aviator who was the first female pilot to fly from Britain to Australia in 1930. Amy herself was born in 1903 at St George's Road, fairly near here. This area had some of the worst housing in Hull and was recognised as a priority for regeneration.
