The building in the foreground is known as Flint Cottage. The front wall is faced partly with knapped flints, partly with flint cobbles. In the photo I've tried to catch the effect of afternoon sunlight glinting off the knapped stones - but with limited success. Beyond the big pink house the older buildings come to an end, giving way to 20th-century suburban-type dwellings as you head out of town.
