Open green space, Altofts

Altofts is a curious place of two halves. There is the section lining the road that runs roughly north east from Stanley Ferry towards Whitwood, which appears on the 1:50000 map as Lower Altofts, then there is another area to the south, both parts having typical late 19thC terraced streets, whilst between there is later housing filling some of the gaps, as seen here.
