The plaque alongside the lamp (see Image) reads:- The Valentine Lamp Linking the romance of gaslight with a George V posting box, artwork and setting depict the Valentine theme. Reg Ling salvaged, restored and adapted the old column originally on St. Catherine Hill, where a plaque is set. The site received dedication and blessing from the Mayor and Frome Council of Churches Chairman on the 14th Feb. 1993 lamp lighting ceremony on Valentine's Day. Dedication Let the lighting of this lamp today, the 14th Feb. 1993 dedicate this site forever to St. Valentine, patron and protector of all whom find love regardless of race, creed or gender.
