The Ely Standard records that this "motor ambulance garage in Fountain Lane" was officially opened in July 1930 http://soham.ccan.co.uk/content/catalogue_item/st-johns-ambulance-garage-fountain-lane-soham-possibly-built-circa-1920-as-a-general-ambulance-station-for-soham Note the Red Cross symbols incorporated into the brickwork on both sides of the doors. The tower of St Andrew's Church is seen in the background.
