Metal plates attached to stone post by the A2, in parish of NEWINGTON (SWALE District), High Street; by No. 89, opposite No. 126, recessed into retaining wall of garden, on North side of road. Dover Road facet, erected by the Chatham & Canterbury turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 3 / MILES / TO / SITTINGBOURNE : : 37 / MILES / TO / LONDON : Kent HER.
