Cast iron post by the A19, in parish of SHIPTON (HAMBLETON District), South of Shipton, South of junction with Sandhole Lane, near village sign, on East side of road. York iron casting, erected by the Thirsk turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : YORK / 5 : : LONDON / 201 : : EASINGWOLD / 8 : Grade II listed.
