Carved stone post by the A3, in parish of LAMBETH (LAMBETH District), Clapham Road, Stockwell SW9, South of junction with Albert Square, in pavement next to road, on West side of road. Surrey limestone pillar, erected by the Surrey & Sussex turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : WHITEHALL / 2(½) / MILES : : ROYAL / EXCHANGE / 3 / MILES : : WHITEHALL / 2½ / MILES : Carved benchmark lower front. Milestone Society National ID: SY_LA03.
